The long-running tradition of gambling over the victorious parties in a port battle has returned to tables across the caribbean. may you bet well and often.

In the 2017-2018 period, nbp paid out over 150,000,000 gold (now called reals) in prizes related to port battle outcomes.
By placing a bet on either the attacking or defending teams, you gain the opportunity to win massively based upon how many other players have bet against you. if your bet is correct, there is no possibility of losing money; but gains are not always certain. If your bet is incorrect, you will win no prize, and forfeit your ticket to the winning betters.
Ticket prices are dictated by the br of the port being attacked, where 80% of the ticket price is contributed to the pot, and 20% of the ticket price is used as a security.
Port battle gambling is always held in reals, and always promises juicy profit to those who bet with luck on their side.
When these events are active, you can find advertisements for them in global chat or an announcement on discord; and tickets can be purchased directly from any bank staff member in any of our corporate outposts.
regatta real
With the release of Naval Action we have found it necessary to create yet another game to keep people amused in their long and boring sails. in this instance, we have created the regatta real.
Every so often there shall be races organized, hereafter referred to as regattas, in which up to five racers shall compete to cross the finish line in the shortest amount of time possible. there are no rules of conduct between the racers, and open combat is encouraged. these events are livestreamed, and are announced on global. regattas can be held either on the open sea, or in a special battle instance.
regulations for racers
1. Racers shall be clan-nominated.
2. All racers shall sail ships of the same rate, determined by nbp beforehand.
3. Combat between racers is encouraged.
4. Racers will pay an entry fee to qualify.
5. Winner takes all.
regulations for betters
1. You cannot wager against your own clan.
2. Tickets to be paid up-front and in full.
3. Betters may place tickets on multiple racers if they do so wish.
financial disclosures
1. At the beginning of each regatta, a predetermined amount of money is provided by NBP as a starting pot depending on the rate of ships being pitted.
2. Ticket prices are determined based upon the rate of ships being pitted.
3. Twelve percent of each ticket price is rolled over into the pot of rewards for the winning racer.
4. Eighteen percent of each ticket price is used as a security by NBP for future events.
5. Eighty percent of racer entry fees are contributed entirely to the pot of rewards for the winning racer; with twenty percent being used by NBP for starting future events.
